G’day, I’m the presenter of “Talking Torque,” a dynamic radio show where I bring my passion for cars and racing to life on air. Although I’ve only been with IPL for a short time, it has been a rewarding journey so far. I have built a growing audience, welcome a number of guest presenters and even established a car club that now has over 60 members.
What’s Talking Torque all about?
Talking Torque allows me to discuss all things car and racing, and tune into all types of music from Johnny Cash to the Beach Boys to the Atlantics, with my favourite hits varying from the 1950s to the 1970s. Each week, I invite up to two special guests to talk about their experiences with vehicles, car photography, restoration, and more. I have interviewed amazing people like Fred Hay, who have shared incredible insights, and their stories continue to inspire me to grow the show.
Hobbies and interests outside of IPL
My love for cars goes beyond the studio. I’ve always been drawn to all sorts of classic cars, such as pedal and race models. I enjoy collecting, restoring, and reimagining old car parts to bring them back to life. I am also proudly serving as the club secretary for XK-XL-XM-XP-Falcons of WA Inc, a community-driven group with a dedicated Facebook page, where we share our passion and promote local car events.
What made you volunteer at IPL?
In addition to my work in radio, I am a corporate chef and volunteer cook at Mr Perfect BBQ on Sunday nights. I met Trys, IPL’s director, whilst volunteering, and was invited to speak on his show. After seeing my enthusiasm and knowledge, he encouraged me to launch Talking Torque. Talking Torque has also become a spotlight platform where others with the same interest can gain wider recognition in the car community. If you are passionate about cars and want to share your story, feel free to reach out to me or Trys – we’d love to feature you on Talking Torque
