Hello, Great to see you here! My name is Nick, and I am the lead presenter of Nix Nuggets every Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9 am to 12 pm. In creating my name, I took into consideration that people tuning in would be interested in listening to a broad spectrum of music, such as songs that are commonly overshadowed by popular hits.
Hobbies and interests outside of IPL
Outside of IPL, my hobbies and interests involve playing music and getting involved in family and sporting activities. I enjoy and am open to a wide variety of music genres, except for death metal (ranging from the 1950s to 2000s). My favourite song is “For a Dancer” written by Jackson Browne.
What’s Nix Nuggets about?
My radio show involves playing music and inviting a variety of guests to participate in discussions with me. They are invited to discuss anything they’d like to bring into the conversation, from mental health, Men’s sporting clubs, to societal issues past or present.
What inspired you to volunteer at IPL?
My passion for music and need to give back to the community have inspired me to volunteer at IPL. I use my radio show as a tool that can source people’s entertainment during their mornings, whether they are tuning in on their way to work or getting ready for the day. I’ve found that this role is quite rewarding as I can easily engage in meaningful conversations, which has allowed me to interview multiple guests of different backgrounds and varying ages.
What motivates me to keep going despite the challenges I face?
I believe that there is a lot of happiness for an individual to hold in the world. As such, many things have motivated me. I have a core sense of achievement where I believe that I have achieved something great when I have transformed someone who wasn’t originally happy to become happy again.
